BIO
We are passionate about many things, with prep school and hockey at the top of the list.  Over a decade ago we welcomed a boy from Kharhov, Ukraine into our home as a billet family for a power skating camp.  We are now his American host family.  This boy, along with our own son and daughter, attends boarding school in New England where they play ice hockey in addition to pursuing other sports and interests.

DAVID BEECHER

THE CLOSER

BIO

David has an extensive network of valuable contacts in the New England boarding school and ice hockey worlds.  He recently completed a 17-year stint as Headmaster at a junior boarding in Massachusetts where he was also head coach of the Varsity ice hockey team.  During his time as Headmaster and hockey coach, David was involved in the placement of a significant number of talented hockey players to schools such as Westminster, Kimball Union, Williston Northampton, Avon Old Farms, Winchendon, Choate Rosemary Hall and many others.  David was Assistant Coach - Men's Varsity Hockey for 8 years under legendary coach Tim Taylor at Yale University.  He served as the hockey recruiting coordinator and coached four All-Americans during his time at Yale.  He was also Head Women's Coach for one year.  Prior to that, David served as Admission Director at the Fay School (Southborough, MA) and Wilbraham and Monson (Wilbraham, MA) as well as Dean of Students and Assistant Director of Admission and Development at Berkshire School (Sheffield, MA).

A lifelong educator, David has been on the IECA Foundation Board since 2007 and currently serves as the Board's Treasurer.  He has served as President of the Junior Boarding School Association; a member of the accreditation committee of the Association of Independent Schools of New England; and on the Board of Directors of the Independent School Advocacy Board for the National Association of Independent Schools. He is the co-founder of a national Headmasters’ organization, the Visionary Heads Group. He was the 2004 winner of the Augustin G. Rudd Award, given by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution for exemplary educational leadership.

CURRENT ROLE

David is currently working as a consultant to independent schools, colleges and other non-profits. He is actively working with four organizations providing executive search, development operations, strategic planning and marketing counsel. 


HOBBIES
David has a keen interest in sports.  He lives in Madison, CT and has two daugthers - Maddie (Choate Rosemary Hall '13; George Washington Univ. '17) and Haley (Williston-Northampton '18).

BACKGROUND

Chris has been a dedicated Coach of hockey for the last 15 years and the sport has been a part of his life since he was 7.  After graduating from SUNY Geneseo, he began his Coaching career in Rochester, NY then moved to Rhode Island with his wife Melissa in 2006.  In 2008, he founded the Rhode Island Hitmen Organization, currently serving as Owner and Executive Director.  He has been Head Coach of the Hitmen U16 team for the last 10 years and enjoyed some successful seasons, including a number of League Championships, two trips to USA Hockey Nationals as well as a team that finished as the 4th ranked Tier II team in the country.  Chris has been an assistant at the High School level and had the honor of coaching at the USA Development Camp when it was hosted in Rhode Island. 

Chris has worked diligently over the last 4-5 years to provide his players with the option of pursuing Prep School.  Over that time, he has helped place approximately 20 players into various schools such as Pomfret, St. George's, Williston, Northfield Mt Hermon, Exeter and Portsmouth Abbey.  As a result, he has been able to build a strong network of hockey connections throughout the New England youth and prep hockey worlds. 

Chris is also Assistant Director and Head of Scouting for the Little Rhody Hockey Club (LRHC), providing top players throughout North America with opportunities to showcase themselves at premier events throughout the summer.  LRHC has become a household name for Prep Scouts.     

Chris and his family, including two boys, Colton (8) and Cooper (5), currently reside in Coventry, RI.  He is employed by Engineered Floors, LLC as a Sales Manager for New England.

BACKGROUND
Jon is an avid ice hockey player and coach who brings a wealth of experience to Prep Hockey Advisors. He is an assistant coach with the Lebanon Valley College women's ice hockey team.  He was previously the Learn to Play Hockey Director and Pee Wee coach with the York Devils Ice Hockey Club. He also coached the Valley Forge Minutemen Bantam Major Tier 1 team. Jon has coached players who moved onto play at the New England Prep School and collegiate Division 1 level, including a recent commit to Arizona State University. Benchich played NCAA Baseball, which has provided him with valuable insight regarding recruiting and eligibility requirements for college athletes. His son recently committed to plan ice hockey at Lebanon Valley College.  Jon and his wife Michelle make their home in Dover, PA.

BACKGROUND
Justine has been a registered nurse for the past 24 years and currently works as a remote nurse auditor for Cotiviti Healthcare in Conshohocken, PA. She and her husband have been immersed in the hockey life for more than a decade, as they have three hockey-playing daughters.  Their oldest Hadley (2001) attends Boston College where she plays for the women's ice hockey team.  Hadley previously attended prep powerhouse Shattuck-St. Mary's.  Quinn (2003) played for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers girls 14U AAA team that earned a bronze medal at the USA Hockey National Championship and now attends Gilmour Academy near Cleveland, OH and Sloan (2008) plays for the Valley Forge Minutemen.  Justine has been a team manager for years, developing familiarity with teams and tournaments across the US and Canada while also recruiting top players for select teams and camps.  She has extensive experience in the Prep school and College recruiting processes.

Sean McCabe

Scouting - Southeastern PA

BACKGROUND
Sean and his wife Monica are business owners who have been operating three Servpro franchises for the past 18 years. They share a passion for cooking, music and ice hockey. Their family has been a part of the Center Ice Oaks hockey community since 2006 when their son Aidan began playing for the Valley Forge Colonials at age 5. Aidan is a 2001 goalie for the Virtua Hockey U18 team and is attending LaSalle College High School where he plays on the Varsity team. Mason (2007) plays for the Valley Forge Minutemen and competed for the Philadelphia Flyers team that competed in the Pee Wee Quebec tournament. Both boys also played for the Exton Bulls Selects. Over the last decade, Sean and Monica have learned a great deal about youth hockey and are eager to share their experiences with families who are considering next steps.
